To a large extent, the care of old and sick people in Germany is based on the work of foreign care workers - most of them from Eastern Europe, most of them women.
They look after the relatives in need of care 24 hours a day, six or seven days a week. For several weeks or months they work in a household and take over the care work often without breaks, during day and night time.
The project „Strong hands” shows the work and life reality of Zuzanna*, a 24-hour care worker who has been caring for old and sick people in Germany for 14 years. Zuzanna herself is 64 years old. „Strong Hands“ is a cooperation with the journalist Lisa Winter.
